Happy New Year 2022

gift

Wishing you a Happy New Year from United Way of Forsyth County!

As 2021 is drawing to a close, there are a number of activities that became part of our daily routine.  We shopped for the perfect gift, picked up ingredients for holiday treats and shared the joy of the holiday season with co-workers, family and friends.  We took the time to reflect on what the year has provided us and what we are thankful for.  We often consider this season a time to help others who are less fortunate.

As Forsyth County continues to grow, so do the needs of our neighbors. We have all seen supply chain issues that have plagued our country, and costs skyrocket because of the pandemic -  especially necessities like rent, food, and basic needs.

DonnaAs we prepare to be with family and friends ringing in the New Year, let us remember those who are alone or struggling, like Donna.  Imagine working into your 80’s to supplement your social security just to afford a place to live in our county.  You love your job, working at a day care. Then, you are let go due to COVID. Yes, you receive unemployment, but what happens when that runs out? Thankfully Donna reached out to United Way for resources and assistance.

While we reflect on the year behind us, we are focused on the great work that will continue into 2022 and beyond. Work, like in-school therapeutic services for our students, the launch of our Child Well-being Index project and partner programs to help residents get back on their feet, stronger than before.  We are reaching out to you for help with Donna and others just like her. Would you be willing to make a year-end contribution or make a pledge for 2022?
