How to Get Involved

It takes money to solve Dawson County's most critical issues.  But, it also takes focus, creativeness and willing hearts and hads to get results.

It takes you and thousands like you who donate valuable time, talent and treasure to build a stronger and safer community.

To get results, United Way brings people and resources together to address the issues you care about most.

Ready to help?  Here's how YOU can Live United!
  • Donate Now

Please give to United Way for Dawson County.  Your generosity allows us to continue to meet the needs of neighbors and friends in crisis.  It also permits us to continue our work in forming partnerships with organizations that can meet needs currently not addressed locally, and to raise awareness in the community about the issues that exist within our counties, as well as how to get and receive help.

Want to make a cash donation?  Your dollars are welcome year round, and are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.  Please use our online pledge card by clicking here or you can request a donation form any time by emailing Lindsay Bohannon or calling the United Way office at 770.781.4110.

  • Volunteer

Volunteering is a great way to get involved and see immediate results for your efforts.  Think about how you LIVE UNITED and be selective about where you spend your time.  Choosing opportunities that make you feel good while helping others builds stronger communities and enriches your own life at the same time.

If you would like more information about specific volunteer opportunities, please contact Lindsay Bohannon at 770.781.4110.

  • Donate Items

To donate office supplies, office furniture or other company items, call the United Way office at 770.781.4110.

To donate furniture, clothing or other household items, call one of the following organizations that can use your gently-used goods:

  • Abba House (678.208.2000)
  • Ric Rac (706.265.1371)
  • Run a United Way Campaign

Over 30 Dawson County organizations and companies run a campaign for United Way each year.  The benefits are greater than you may know.  United Way campaigns build employee morale and team spirit by focusing employees on critical community issues.  The best campaigns are fun and engaging, and are a welcome part of a company's annual calendar.
