United Way Worldwide is #1 on The Chronicle of Philanthropy's new list of America's Favorite Charities
We at United Way of Forsyth County are proud to be a part of the network of America’s Favorite Charities. On behalf of the 68,500 people who benefited from United Way support in 2017, thank you!
This ranking of the top 100 charities is based on cash support — the total value of money and stock received as gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Chronicle of Philanthropy focused exclusively on cash and stock because that money comes directly from individuals. It excludes government grants, donated products, and contributions to donor-advised funds. This report represents a new approach from the Philanthropy 400, which was their previous ranking.

It also offers a more detailed financial picture of the organizations that are the best at fundraising. The ranking is based on a group’s cash support — the total value of money and stock it received as gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
