Community investments of almost $980,000 were expanded to include over 47 programs in United Way funding. | |

The funds were distributed for programming in the areas of Self-Sufficiency (23%), Health/Safety/Leadership (20%), At-Risk Children and Youth (18%), Substance Abuse/Mental Health/ Domestic Violence (17%), Development of Children and Youth (14%) and Special Needs (8%). | |

United Way volunteers, staff and business representatives ran the greatest campaign ever, raising $1,610,034 in pledges during the campaign. The campaign was led by Steve Voshall, 2007 Vice President of Campaign. There was significant growth throughout the workplace campaigns. The top three companies were 1) UPS 2) Publix and 3) Forsyth County Schools. Way to go! | |

United Way’s fifth annual Day of Caring had 374 volunteer citizens participating in 58 projects throughout the day completing worthwhile tasks in the community. | |

Continuing to break the barriers of traditional funding United Way, partnered with new organizations to provide funding and solutions to fulfill the human service needs of our residents. | |

United Way reviewed the Standards of Excellence criteria from United Way of America and conducted an organizational self assessment with a goal to continue to strive to meet the benchmarks set for each United Way. | |

Partnering with the Cumming/Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, United Way contributed to the Chamber of Commerce Envision 2030 project, both monetarily and with volunteer representation. | |
|
Literacy is a nationwide concern and Forsyth County is no exception. United Way sought to fulfill the need to help others in all areas of literacy and has added a new partner agency, Forsyth County CLCP. | |
|
A new council of volunteers was created to ensure that the benchmarks set by United Way of America are met by UWFC, the council developed a new and expanded mission statement as a framework for the organization. |

United Way has a commitment to each and every donor to maximize the use of every dollar. In 2006 United Way instituted a new budget review form for agencies and programs to align more with Community Impact philosophy. | |

Met all standards of membership required by United Way of America and received certification for continued efforts. | |

Keeping overhead low is a promise to the community United Way of Forsyth County is committed to keeping. The yearly audit completed by an independent CPA firm showed an overhead of 8.7, well below the Federal guidelines of 25%. That is impact! |
United Way of Forsyth County has allocated over $6,490,000 to support the citizens of Forsyth County in it’s first 15 years of funding. It is a direct reflection of the power of community, the power of giving, the power of caring! Together the community and United Way are making tomorrow brighter for us all!
What a
year! The focus was on community issues and continuing to strive for the
standards of excellence set by United Way of America. Every accomplishment is
made real by the efforts of donors and volunteers.
