Our Focus

The UWFC focus is:

  1. To serve as a central fund raising agency for human programs for selected agencies
  2. To serve as a community-wide forum for identifying the needs for human services
  3. To act as a central instrument through which the whole community can both support and make use of the agencies that perform these services
  4. To provide the effective voice for ensuring that these services are performed according to the high standards of quality, efficiency, and economy
  5. To promote cooperation among United Way organizations striving for a United appeal, while maintaining their individuality to best meet the needs of this community

Provides adult and continuing education opportunities to the residents of Forsyth County.

Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center

Dedicated to coordinating the investigation of child sexual/physical abuse by working with law enforcement agencies, the court system, as well as the family.

Provides primary health care including obstetric care, mammography services, prostrate screenings, and diabetic education regardless of ability to pay.

Offers girls ages 5 - 17 programs to teach life skills, values, and develop leadership potential.

A regeneration program for adult males struggling with alcohol and drug addiction; provides food and clothing pantry for people in need.

Offers programs for boys designed to build leadership, character and citizenship skills.

The Place

Provides emergency financial assistance, thrift store and food pantry, elderly assistance, youth program, Hispanic program, and a noon meal on Wednesdays; the Hands Across Forsyth program provides holiday distribution of food and toys to families in need; the Forsyth County Medical Fund provides life sustaining medicine and limited emergency dental for residents that do not have insurance or the financial resources.
